The first vodka soda after a three month quarantine...

...hit differently. It had been something I'd taken for granted all these years - being able to choose to leave my house and visit the neighborhood bar, shoot the shit with the bartenders and strangers was something I took for granted. During three months of stay at home orders, all I could think about was that moment I could finally get that watered-down, $12 drink from a stranger.

And all it took was three months of staying indoors.

We sometimes get caught in the weeds of what's lacking in our lives. A coach can help you re-frame where you are and define what you really need. Do I really need an overpriced vodka soda at a grimey bar? No - but what I wanted was the freedom of making my own choices and connecting with others. Our wants and needs are sometimes disguised as the symptom, when we're really looking for something else.
